Auralite-23 is a trade name most commonly used for a distinctive Amethyst-rich mineral material from the Canadian Shield region of Ontario, Canada. It is known for its beautiful purple Quartz alongside naturally occurring inclusions and coatings that can create red, bronze, smoky and earthy colouration.

The name “23” comes from claims that the material may contain or be associated with numerous different minerals. However, the exact mineral composition can vary considerably from specimen to specimen, so not every piece will contain 23 identifiable minerals.

Iron-bearing minerals, particularly Hematite, are responsible for many of the beautiful red and rusty tones commonly seen within Auralite material, while the Amethyst and Quartz provide its characteristic purple and translucent areas.
